Abstract: One of the major challenges facing prisons service especially in the developing countries like Nigeria is how to accurately and efficiently analyze the growing volume of prison inmate data. Nigerian Paramilitaries particularly the Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) Adamawa State command keep volumes of inmate data and information. Despite the enormously volume of data which is on the increase, the recordkeeping process remains manual; this does not assure proper safe keeping of inmate records. This study designed a database framework for the NPS Adamawa State command. The study analyzed the existing system of recordkeeping adopted by NPS which is the manual method of record keeping; developed a prototype database model; and designed a web application that would interact with the database. Before the main design, a comprehensive analysis of the existing system was carried out. 16 staff were interviewed for the exercise and the result showed the need for Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) Adamawa State command to have such robust database framework for accurate and efficient tracking of inmate data. The system was designed using Microsoft SQL server, MS Visual Studio. The researcher also used agile software development methodology and accomplished the development by the use of C-sharp, JavaScript, HTML 5 and Bootstrap CSS as tools. The system was tested using a workable prototype, and major recommendations were made. The researcher believes such a database framework should be deployed to Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) Adamawa State Command for full implementation. Findings of this work suggest that similar paramilitaries like the Nigerian Prison Services (NPS) should also incorporate a centralized database system into their process. Though further research needs to be conducted regarding the introduction of bio-metric fingerprinting as a means of tracking prison inmates in such organizations; this work is of the opinion that data warehousing of all prison data for the Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) as a whole is a necessary/vital way forward.

Abstract: The study of cryptocurrencies doesn’t clearly propose different approaches that provide cryptocurrency development. The purpose of this paper is to determine approaches to cryptocurrency development, in which we select one to develop a national cryptocurrency that will be able to bring out Cameroun from CFA Franc. Developing a national cryptocurrency or bringing out Cameroun from CFA Franc is a monetary issue which is generalized in the problem of commodity exchange. This problem focuses on how to exchange goods and services while ensuring stakeholder satisfaction. To this end, after a brief literature review on the commodity exchange system, money and Bitcoin, we first explored possible approaches to the development of cryptocurrencies. The study in these approaches has enabled us to determine four different solutions: firstly by token development, secondly by hard fork development, thirdly by fork of source code development, and at last by fork of software development. For each approach, we make a summary presentation which lists its stages of development. The comparison of these approaches in terms of development time, development cost dependence on a blockchain platform and solution to exit from the CFA Franc led us to choose fork of software approach. The fork of software approach of cryptocurrencies development best solves our problem, since it offers us a cryptocurrency development solution, but also proprietary currency which is independent of blockchain platforms. Fork of software is a fork approach that observes behavior of existing software, in view to implementing it again and/or customizing it. We proposed an explorative development method which combines: the iterative and incremental method with evolutionary prototype, for application of the development approach retained above.

Abstract: Data security has become very important nowadays, especially with the increase of data from the big data, forcing each sector to review its security system. The security of driving license and the vehicle registration is always attributed to an authority. This authority can be public or private. In Cameroon, in the transport sector, the security of the driving license and the vehicle registration document is attributed to two private authorities. Presprint Pl for the driving license and High Tech Telesoft for the vehicle registration card. Their objective is to prove the authenticity, availability and confidentiality of the holder of the driving license or car registration card. But until now, the security of these transport documents has encountered certains problems such as the fact that some individuals possess false driver's licenses or false vehicle registration cards. Sometimes with the complicity of certain system managers, the time taken by an applicant to obtain his driver's license or vehicle registration card, the management of the data to be secured by a single authority. Faced with this situation, in order to ensure that only qualified persons who have received appropriate driver training and hold a authentic driving license can be authorized to drive vehicles. The security of the system will be optimized through the use of blockchain technology, in allowing transparency in data management and without a central authority.
